Welcome to our brand new blog! We have so much to tell you. Let’s start with who we are..

Hi! I’m Ashley. I’m the blonde on the right looking super happy because I’m in the best city on earth with my best friend in the world. I’m a high school math teacher by day, a math tutor after that, and at night, I design and sell Pittsburgh-themed apparel with my other best friend, Lisa! On the weekends and in the evenings, I do social media, advertising, and marketing for my dad’s Ford dealership! I completed my undergrad and grad school at California University of Pennsylvania (BS in Secondary Math Education and Masters in Administration Ed.), where I also was a cheerleader for the Cal Vulcans!

From the time I was a little girl, my parents took my younger sister, Kaitlyn, and me all over the world. I’m glad they did because they instilled in me a desire to see and explore new places! My favorite place I’ve traveled to is probably London and my favorite tropical location is Aruba! The places on my current wish list are Paris, France and Lake Louise, Alberta! I. love. to. travel! I already have at least three trips planned over the next few months. I love to travel with my family, but I also really like to travel with my best girlfriends!

Erin and I have been best friends since 5th grade! We’ve been to quite a few places together over the last 17 years and we’ve got big plans to see the parts of the world we haven’t yet had the chance to love. Erin is the sweetest. She is a super talented Cosmetologist and Stylist and I just know you’re going to love all the amazing things she can teach you about right here on our new blog! “Football, fashion, food, tech, travel, math, baseball, photos, make-up, music, boots, LV, laughter, pretty things, and coffee” is a non-comprehensive list of my favorite things and I hope that I can provide you some awesome insight on all of the above. If I was a Transformer, I would probably be “Amazon Prime.” I kind of LOVE online shopping and receiving packages.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ll keep this intro short and sweet because you still have to meet my best friend… xo

Hey everyone, I’m Erin (but you can call me “Er”– pronounced “Air”)… the girl in the pink dress. I would love to say that I still look exactly like that, but my style changes from week to week. Literally. As Ashley so wonderfully stated, I am a Cosmetologist. I have a passion for my career and it has taken me many places. My next adventure (in my career) that I am embarking on is learning and getting certified in eyelash extensions! This should be fun! I plan on teaching everyone all about lash extensions, hair care, and more… And I can legally do this because I am also a Licensed Cosmetology Teacher in multiple states! 😉

I wish I could also say that I caught the travel bug in my early childhood years, but I didn’t until I got a little older. The moment my passport arrived in the mail was the day I swore to myself I would get as many stamps in it as possible… And what better way to do that than to take a bunch of you with me on my journey? And knowing that I have a best friend who literally has her bags packed and ready to go at the drop of a hat is freaking awesome!!

BTW I hope you don’t mind  I am 90% sure my fur baby may actually make an appearance every once in a while. She is a 65-pound Brindle Boxer and is LITERALLY the best cuddler in the world… (sorry hubs)..

As for other things, I am an amateur photographer and have done some small photoshoots for family and friends. It’s more of a hobby, a release, if you will. The world changes when you capture it through a camera lens. I also enjoy concerts, archery hunting, a good book, and I can not function with out coffee (might I add, on our adventures, Ashley and I ALWAYS stop at as many Dunkin’ Donuts locations as possible — we even use the app to find them! Ha!).

Ashley is, and has been, my very best friend. Our hearts beat for travel, fashion, food, and fun. While our styles may be totally different in a lot of ways (did I mention I am currently sporting PINK hair?), and we may have different interests (I don’t follow any sports), we always come together with our traveling hearts.

We are both so very excited to share our adventures here, with you. Ever since we were little, we would say we couldn’t wait for our next “adventure.” So, when we started laying out the plans for this blog over the past few months, we knew we wanted to mainly focus on travel and fashion, two of our shared passions. We finally decided on “Adventure á la Mode.” Most people think that “á la mode” means “topped with ice cream”– and they’re right– because that’s another meaning that the French phrase coined in the 1600s (that literally translates to “in style” or “fashionable”) took on in the late 1800s. But we like food and LOVE dessert, so we don’t mind the double entendre. 😉
