If you live in Pittsburgh and you haven’t been to Burgatory— well, to put it simply– you’re missing out! They have a menu with all different types of burgers and other selections, but our favorite thing to do here is custom build our burger (see Custom Creation photo). We don’t go here very often, but when we do, we do it big. lol Burgers AND shakes are a must when you visit this friendly little joint. There are Burgatory restaurants at the Waterfront (that’s where we were Saturday night), Robinson Center, Fox Chapel, Murrysville, the North Shore (between Heinz Field and PNC Park), McCandless Crossing, and inside Heinz Field and PPG Paints Arena (home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins, respectively).
Backstory: Prior to Erin’s wedding in 2014, Ashley explained to Erin that she could pick ANYTHING she wanted to do or go for her bachelorette party. Erin thought for a second and finally said, “I don’t care what we do, but can we please do dinner at Burgatory?” That’s what the bride wanted. That’s what the bride got.
So, Saturday night, we actually headed to the Waterfront with two different groups of people and were supposed to be at two different locations, but ended up seeing each other at dinner and had our beloved Burgatory shakes! The one pictured was a weekend special called the Unicorn Cake Batter shake. Filled with cake batter, pieces of cake, and marshmallows from Lucky Charms– it was nothing short of amazing. If you missed out on this limited time special, don’t fret– we’ve done it big with some of these.
We both love Nutella– like adore it. If that’s you, go for the Salted Nutella Crunch. It’s calorie free. Just kidding. Don’t look up the nutrition facts though. Just don’t. Shhhh.
If you’re in Pittsburgh, we have a cute little outdoor shopping mall on the outskirts of the city called the Waterfront (on the Monongehela River), located in Homestead, PA. That’s the Burgatory we visited Saturday. Right next door is one of our favorite places to shop, Charming Charlie (that’s where we’re at in the first photo in the blog post). Ashley first discovered Charming Charlie in 2012 at the Galleria. When she first found CC, she was actually so sad she had missed out on it all those years! Since then, many more have opened up, including the Waterfront location. Erin is now a huge fan of the store too! It’s a relatively inexpensive store where everything is sorted by color (organization at its finest– your OCD will thank you). They have tons of jewelry in every color you can imagine! They have some clothing– not a huge selection– and tons of handbags. We mainly love this store for the jewelry. It’s a pretty store and fun to shop in. It can be a bit overwhelming, but one thing is for certain– Charming Charlie has our hearts. <3
If you’re in the Burgh, these are two places you’ll definitely want to check out. Charming Charlie is located all over the US though– we would know– we’ve been to quite a few. 😉 (One time, Ashley’s friend Kelly knocked over literally all the necklace stands in the black & white section in Washington DC’s Charming Charlie. So, be careful. They fall like dominoes… and uncontrollable giggles ensue. Don’t worry. They helped clean up. lol)

Ash & Er
