We have big summer plans– and lots of them. But sometimes, at dinner, and in life, you just need an appetizer. This past weekend was our adventure appetizer. We set out Friday morning for the Inner Harbor of Baltimore for a little weekend getaway. It was such a great time and didn’t take us long at all to get there (about 3.5 hours). The boys were our drivers, photographers (for when we both needed in a picture), and dinner dates.
The Inner Harbor was the perfect backdrop for any picture– especially in the evening at Golden Hour, which is when we coincidentally set out for dinner Friday night! The Inner Harbor area is really very clean and makes you feel very safe. We stayed right in the Inner Harbor at the Pier 5 Hotel (a Curio Hilton hotel). Our rooms were harbor view and ultimately, inexpensive compared to the surrounding hotels (Hyatt, Marriott, etc.) that weren’t even located right on the harbor like ours was. The rooms were great, though we didn’t spend much time in them at all– just to sleep for a few hours and get back out and adventure! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Baltimore! It was wonderful and in the perfect location to do all of the things we wanted to do!

Front of our hotel

Back of our hotel on the water– hotel has a McCormick & Schmick and Ruth Chris on site. There is a small lighthouse behind the hotel you can go up the stairs and use as a viewing deck.
On Friday, we spent our first few hours walking along the water and looking at the beautiful boats and condominiums located on the water. It was nice getting to know our surroundings and where everything was located. You can walk a few miles just around the Inner Harbor, without going out into the city. We got a little more dressed up for dinner to take some photos for the blog. <3
While there, we went to the National Aquarium and hit up some of the most famous breakfast places in Baltimore. Erin loves Guy Fieri, so we made sure to follow his footsteps and try some of the best meals in the Inner Harbor area! Who doesn’t love a good episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, though?

Is anyone surprised we found Dunkin’ Donuts?

Is anyone surprised we found the Victoria’s Secret?
We took on the Inner Harbor Friday afternoon and were safely back home by Sunday evening to spend some of Easter with our families. We ventured out of the harbor for a few important things like breakfast, Victoria’s Secret, and Dunkin’, so we did get to see some fun parts of Baltimore– like Little Italy! We jam-packed a lot into the holiday weekend, so more blog posts will be coming soon on the places we went and the amazing things we ate during our weekend getaway!
Can’t wait to share more details about the Inner Harbor with you guys! <3
xoxo,
Ash & Er
