Well, we are winding down from a long, hard day of relaxing (and cheering on the Pens) and decided to update everyone on how amazing our stay has been here at the Timber Ridge Cabin. This morning we started off with some home-brewed Dunkin’ Donuts S’mores coffee and pancakes. The nice thing about staying here is that we could bring food to cook (and coffee to brew), but we didn’t have to drag pots and pans, plates and glasses, etc.
It was in the low 50’s and rainy this morning so we didn’t waste any time getting into the hot tub. Ashley brought her portable speakers so we listened to Florida Georgia Line and relaxed. The view from the hot tub is breath taking.
Three hours later, we figured it was time to get out and do something productive, so we both came in, made some snacks and, at some point, we each took a cat nap (gosh, vacationing is exhausting!). It wasn’t long and the sun started shining, so we decided to take a walk around the property. The house looks amazing on the outside. Last night it was too dark to see anything, but it is so beautiful here.
As we walked, we took pictures of the property and of the barn that sits next to the house that can be used as a wedding reception. Some couples have gotten married down by the lake and then celebrated in the rustic barn. Though we didn’t get to go in, we did sneak up and look in the windows– and it is beautiful; a nice-sized dance floor, rustic barn doors, and antler chandelier’s hanging from the ceiling. It would be perfect for a fall wedding. The property is surrounded by tons of trees, including weeping willows.
Basically we haven’t wanted to leave all day. We both feel so relaxed; this weekend getaway was definitely needed. Bypass the beach this Memorial Day and Fourth of July and head to the mountains. Come and relax “where the Mountains touch the rivers.”
