I don’t really like change. I suppose nobody really does. But when it’s for the better, I embrace it and move forward. I like routine. When I find a routine that works, I stick to it. The same is true with my make-up. I know what products work the best for me and I stick with them. When I first read about ipsy, I’m thought, “No way I would like that. I already have a skincare and haircare routine that works.”
Then, I tried it. I was lured in by the inexpensiveness and the fact that the cost of products and samples are typically worth way more than that– and a cute make-up bag included every time?! Ok, sign me up. That was about a year ago.
The truth is I’ve tried things I would’ve never tried and I’ve changed up my routines– for the better. It can be very costly to go to Sephora and buy something new to try that you may not even like– most of which are well over $10 each! That’s why I really think ipsy IS worth it! For 10 bucks, I get 5– sometimes 6– products a month to try! Some are full size and some are sample size. I’ve used all of the cosmetic bags in some way or another– most of them in my purse (if you’re new here, I love organization) for different items such as lipsticks, gum, feminine products, etc. and some of them in my bathroom drawers for items such as face masks, hair masks, make-up, etc.
If you’ve never heard of ipsy, it’s a $10 monthly subscription that arrives around the middle of each month in a metallic hot pink mailing envelope! It’s always so exciting to find it in your mailbox! Inside is the cosmetic bag of the month (which is always super cute and has some theme) filled with items picked just for you! When you sign up, you answer questions about your skin type, skin color, eye color, hair color, as well as questions about your cosmetic and haircare items of choice, to name a few. Then, your items are customized just for you! It’s always so spot-on for me. If you’d like to sign up, here is my referral link.
Because of my ipsy subscription, I’ve found some of my favorite products that are now part of my routines and most of these, I ended up purchasing again! Shop some of my favorites below:
- It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illumination Concealer (This is number 1 because it’s my all-time favorite make-up item! I use it with just a little Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder.)
- Colourpop Gel Eye Liner— in Swerve (Only 5.00)
- Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer (Since I’ve started using this, people tell me my hair looks soft and shiny– which is a tough thing to achieve for blondes! I ordered a big bottle from Eva NYC after using it all!)
- Luxie brushes: I’ve gotten 4 different brushes since I’ve subscribed to ipsy, all Luxie brand. I wasn’t a big make-up brush user prior to my ipsy subscription, but I can say that I use all of them daily (eyeshadow blending, foundation application, under eye concealer bake, etc.)
- Bella Pierre Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow: Soft, translucent, and adds a little glow and shimmer to blend after foundation and concealer.
- Trestique: Highlight and Perfect Multipurpose Stick: Adds a little highlight anywhere you need it! Love this! (Opposite side has a blender.)
- Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow: Volumizing Gel (comes in blonde and evens out brow tone and shape).
- INSPR Duo Brow Highlighter: Since, I’ve started filling in those extra blonde places in my brows, I use this double-ended highlight pencil to highlight under my brows. I love it and need to order a new one!
- NYX Butter Lipstick: My beloved lipstick– you all already know how much I love this stuff. I have it in about 20 different colors and it’s SO INEXPENSIVE. Yep, found it through ipsy! <3
