Happy Thanksgiving, friends!! I love Thanksgiving because it’s the last time to relax and truly be thankful before the Christmas holiday (busiest time of year) starts creeping its way in. It’s insane how Black Friday has turned into “Black Week” over the years. My e-mail inbox is virtually overflowing with ads from companies begging us to shop now, racing to be the first place with the best deals. I literally cannot keep up with deleting. Geesh. Let a girl be thankful for today.
With that being said, I love Christmas. What a holiday. Jesus, our Savior, came to earth in the form of a man to save us. Wow. Sometimes, I love to just soak it in– the true Reason for the season! The Christmas music will be playing, our Christmas tree will light up our home, and I’ll be able to give the perfect gifts to my family and friends. I love to buy gifts for people. It’s one of my favorite parts of the holiday.
Girls are tough, right? Sometimes, it’s hard to come up with something that they don’t already have! Before the crazy starts kicking in, I wanted to give you a few ideas that you may want to jump on soon (while the deals are good and there’s still time to get them before Christmas)! Watch for these items going on sale this weekend and snatch ’em up when they do.
- The Erin Condren LifePlanner or Teacher Lesson Planner: This planner has changed my life. Being a tech girl, I use technology all the time, but when it comes to my schedule and plans, I like to have something tangible to write in. Erin Condren planners are completely customizable and you can design the cover and inside as you please. I’ve done my research and these are the best around. They are made in the USA and take a few weeks to go through the design process and arrive at your door. I also love supporting this company that started as a small business! If you’d like to read more about this planner, I did a full blog post on the teacher planner here, but the LifePlanner is also very similar– just without the teacher stuff. Each planner has the month layout as shown below, but you can customize how you want the week layout to be (block, rectangular, hourly). There’s also a student planner available. Oh, and you can choose the binding metal (platinum, gold, or rose gold). <3If you use my link to purchase an Erin Condren planner, you will receive $10 off your order!
2. Ugg House Shoes/Slippers: So, I hate socks. In the summer and spring, I can get away with running around in my barefeet, but then it gets cold and everyone’s like, “Where the heck are your socks, Ashley!?” Umm… oops? So, I also hate being cold, but socks are meant for shoes and I’m not trying to wear them around the house. When I discovered Ugg Slippers/House Shoes, I pretty much found the solution. There are two different pairs I’d recommend: Rib-Knit (40% off now) and Moraene (on sale for under $70 at Zappos). Both are great and keep your feet cozy warm. If you’re looking to splurge a little bit, these are a fabulous gift that she will definitely use. Make sure you know her Ugg Boot size before ordering (no half sizes– go up a size).
3. The Perfect Flannel: Seriously, guys. Best. Shirt. Ever. I probably wear it too much and I don’t even care. It’s so soft and comfy and every girl appreciates a good flannel. I have it in two different colors, but the blue/green combo is my absolute fav.
4. Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles with Flame Free Lighter: It doesn’t even matter how many she has, she will appreciate one. They are the best 3-wick candles around and somehow, we can’t ever have enough. Well, my husband may think differently… Some scents you could go for are Campfire Donut, Flannel, Salted Caramel, Maple Cinnamon Pancakes, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Pumpkin Apple, Marshmallow Fireside, Cinnamon Caramel Swirl, Blueberry Sugar, Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla, Spiced Graham Cracker…. to name a few.. lol. But seriously, they smell amazing and just get you in the holiday spirit. I am somewhat afraid of matches and lighters so I’m a huge fan of this rechargeable lighter from Amazon. And you never run out of lighter fluid.. haha!
5. The Best Leggings EVER: I’ve gotten these Zella leggings for a few of my family members and friends and every single person has LOVED them. They are my all-time favorite leggings. If you’ve been here for a while, you already know! They’re half the price of Lulu and the quality is fabulous. You can wear them to yoga class, to work out, or under your favorite sweater! They are so versatile and incredibly flattering.
6. For the Pittsburgh Girl: INSIDE INFO ALERT!! My friend Lisa and I are co-owners of the Burgh Blondes clothing line. We are going to be having a holiday sale starting tomorrow!! Get your shopping cart ready on the Burgh Blondes website. We have so many cute sweatshirts, tees, and tanks for the Pittsburgh girl in your life!
7. Tech Lover: I am always the gift-giver of the latest and greatest tech because my heart beats for it. <3 Recently, I got my dad the best little photo printer for his birthday. My dad loves photos and he already has his new birthday gift up and running, having printed several photos of Charlie and me already! Another idea for a younger family member is the Instax Mini. I got this as one of Brianna’s gifts last year and she absolutely loved it. Be sure to get some extra film if you don’t choose a “package” option!
8. For the Coffee Lover: Get her a refillable Dunkin’ cup! The girl in your life who runs of Dunkin’ will appreciate the gift that keeps on giving! If you buy a Dunkin’ Donuts logo cup, hot and iced coffee refills are only $1.29! They used to be $0.99.. lol
9. Let Her Decide: When all else fails, I highly recommend Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret, Express, and Sephora gift cards. 😉 If you’re looking for beauty/hair care products, you can check out some of our favorite products in this post and this post.
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy time with your family today!! Best of luck with your holiday shopping this weekend and in the upcoming weeks!
xo,
Ashley
