Many have noticed the beautiful au naturale lashes Ashley has been showing off for the past few months and a lot of people have been questioning me about it; knowing that I am a eyelash extension stylist, it throws people off as to why she doesn’t have them. “Doesn’t that make you mad?” No. “Doesn’t that hurt your business?” No. “In your opinion, which is a better option?” Both are equally great! There are a lot of pros and cons to both, but the common factor for both is to LOVE YOUR LASHES!
I have a lot of clients that are over the top with their makeup and for them, a natural lash just isn’t enough. Eyelash extensions add length if you choose, but most people are looking for fullness. A lot of my clients wear falsies and this service saves them the 15 minutes it takes every morning to put them on. It is also a safer option to the daily strip lash wearer, as the strips can easily damage the eyelashes. On some clients, even after washing the natural lashes, I still spend at least 10 minutes scraping off strip lash glue. Another pro is no mascara at all! I love this feature for myself because at the end of a long salon day, I have fierce black mascara rings around my eyes! I’m not taking anything away from my favorite mascaras, but I do like the convenience of not having to worry about putting it on every morning. I also love the fact that I can go out in public with out putting any make-up on and looking like I did my eyes! I don’t know about you, but if I leave the house without at least mascara, I look like a dead fish. I personally rock lash extensions as frequently as I can get them filled… but unfortunately, a fill isn’t always possible, which can be a major con to most people. If you don’t have the time or the “cabbage” (I heard one of the boys call it cabbage the other day and it made me LOL), then lash extensions might not be for you. Personally, I have been told my prices are very reasonable to most, but they can get pretty expensive based on demographics. If you miss an appointment, it isn’t going to be pretty; if you’re someone who can’t deal with fills, appointments, and all the maintenance of eyelash extensions, you may want to move on to the next option!
Ashley’s lashes are beautiful. I have been up and personal with her eyes so I should know! Her lashes are just as healthy now as they were pre-lash extensions. The difference? A conditioning treatment she is using daily to make her lashes even healthier and they are growing. As a cosmetologist, I am all for enhancing natural beauty and after seeing Ashley’s lashes have a growth spurt, I am a believer. For a lot of people the serum she uses is worth the investment and it is better than some of the other lash serums out there. She still gets to use her favorite mascara and she’s a perfect candidate for a lash lift and tint! A lash tint and lift is another service I do in the salon to give natural lashes an “eyelash curler” appearance! Ashley wants me to do this to her lashes so they are darker since her own are naturally very light. It is beautiful and I do this to a lot of my clients. This service lasts about 6 weeks and it’s definitely a more affordable option! The cons would be that the results may vary from person to person, mascara is something that needs to be applied everyday, and while the lashes are long you won’t have that “strip lash” look that some may desire. Really though, it’s easy to add the conditioning treatment to your daily routine and if you are lucky enough to be like Ash you will have beautiful long natural lashes.
So when people ask me which I like better, I am being genuine when I say both. Really, it’s up to YOU and whatever works best for your lifestyle and wallet.
Just remember, with great lashes comes great responsibility!

Great post! Thanks for sharing that knowledge with us! I can’t use eyelash extension yet, so I take advantage of this time and improve my eyelashes. I loved Latisse, but it is very pricey. So I decided to purchase the generic version of Latisse which is the Careprost. So happy ❤️ I finally found ‘HOTLASH247’ in Google and got careprost (same as Latisse, but it’s a way cheaper, thanks girls 😊). There is no difference to me. Latisse and Careprost are the same thing. I could never go back to my normal lashes now. I have had phenomenal results with it. It is well worth the money for me. After trying it, I will never be without it! My lashes are twice as long and thick and I am already being asked if they’re natural, to which I can happily respond ”Yes”!
