It’s almost 2019. Christmas might be over, but with 2019 comes Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, birthdays, and other special occasions that are still to be had. You’re going to need some more gift ideas, my friend. I used Christmas as a time to evaluate the top gifts for busy gals and I’ve compiled my short list for our blog readers. So whether you’re using that new Christmas cash to shop for you or you’re planning an epic gift for an upcoming special occasion, give this a read before you start shopping.
- Yeti Tumbler: I’ve seen so many people carrying these tumblers around. The first thing I noticed was the ice clanging. A few hours in to my work day, my students still have ice in their tumblers. What? Yep, the Yeti tumbler will supposedly keep your drink cold or hot for up to 6 hours (but I’ve had full ice cubes in mine since 9am and it is currently 6pm– still cold). My sister’s boyfriend, Justin, got me the mint-colored Rambler 14oz Mug and I immediately fell in love with it. My iced coffee does not get watered down in this baby! I like the size and shape of the mug and the fact that it holds more than it would appear to. You can use it for other things too– oatmeal, soup, and other types of drink besides coffee. Depending which tumbler you choose, prices range from $19.99 to $49.99.
- Kindle Paperwhite E-Reader: I purchased a new Kindle last summer before heading off to Hawaii. I had the same one since high school and was ready for a new one. I wasn’t a fan of reading on my iPad on the beach, due to the glare. I love my Kindle Paperwhite. It’s small so I can toss it in my purse and read anytime I get the chance. It’s especially great for traveling, when you don’t want to throw several heavy books in your carry-on. The battery lasts for about a week with every-day use.
- Morphe Cosmetics Brush Set: Shout out to Ally for getting me a Morphe Brush Set for my birthday two years ago. I love mine! I got these for both Kaitlyn (my sister) and Brianna (my cousin) for Christmas. Every brush has a place, so again, this is great for storing in limited bathroom space and for traveling with limited suitcase space! Every brush you need is inside and depending on which set you choose, the Morphe brush sets are around $20-$25.
- Riki Illuminated Cutie Mirror: Thanks, Erin! I LOVE my gift from my best friend. We wrote all about our other gifts we exchanged here. This one in particular made me so super happy because it caught me completely off-guard. I love surprises and I had never even heard of one of these, so I wasn’t even close to expecting one. I’m all about tech, so having a beauty and tech product in one made my heart smile. It has three light settings and is amazing for applying make-up on-the-go. It’s also great for tweezing your eyebrows. Anyone else ever sat in the car to do it because you can see so well? *raises hand* It’s like that, but better. And it charges just like your phone does. Erin got me the rose gold holiday edition, but the regular edition (silver) is still available for purchase!
- Apple Airpods: The Christmas gift of 2018. Though I did not receive or purchase this gift myself, I’ve seen firsthand how cool these little things are. First of all, they take up virtually no space. Second of all, they do not have to be synced like your typical Bluetooth headphones. They automatically connect. These would be especially great for traveling or working out. Rumor has it, someone is getting these for her birthday… 😉
- Zella High Waist Live-In Leggings: I know, I know. We talk about these all the time, but they’re the best. They’re perfect for traveling, working out, and under tunics/sweaters/sweatshirts/dresses. I recently traveled to New Orleans and took two black pairs with me– one for the way down and one for the way home! They’ve got just the right amount of stretch and support. Get a girl in your life a pair or 5 of these and she will certainly love you forever. They also come in other colors, which change based on the season.
I hope you’ve found something you or a friend/family member can use on my “Girl-on-the-Go” list! I wanted to create a concise list of my top items, so I kept it narrowed down to the very best ones. <3
xoxo,
Ashley
