Ashley's Items to Watch For
1. Amazon Echo Dot: This little baby is on sale for just $22 for Prime Day. It’s the most inexpensive of the Alexa devices and it still does everything with the exception of screen functions (there is no screen on this device). We have two at our house– one upstairs and one downstairs. The one in the kitchen gets the most use, as it is used for reminders, kitchen timers, and I even use it to start my car in the mornings. “Alexa, start my car with FordPass.” It’s the busy (or always running late) girl’s dream.
If you don’t have one, what the heck are you waiting for? And no, the government isn’t going to listen to you. You can turn on your choice of privacy settings if you’re still paranoid.
2. My Go-To Basic Tee: You guys went crazyyy over this tee when I wrote about it a few weeks ago here. And I totally don’t blame you. I’m crazy over it too.. which is probably why I have it in 6 colors. Not sure if it will go on sale, but it’s still pretty cheap at $16.99 for a good quality basic tee!
Oh, and I’m sorry to report the same company is now making a new twist-front in LEOPARD (link above). There are four different types of leopard print and they’re all adorable. I’m linking the one I ordered. How cute is that?!
3. 3-in-1 Printer: I bought this for my classroom last year and for my husband for his classroom this year! It’s great for quick copies and if you need access to a printer. Teacher friends, you know how sometimes you need one copy and you can’t leave your kids to run to the machine? Bingo. Perfect for that.
It’s one of Canon’s lower-end models. I don’t use it to print photos or anything, but if you’re looking for a decent printer/copier/scanner, this one is it– just $59.99.
4. Stylish Swimsuits: I recently purchased a few one-piece swimsuits since they’re currently all the rage. I ended up getting them from Cupshe and I fell in love. I’m not going to attach the photos of me; I’ll let the skinny model pictured show you how they look on. :p BUT they are super flattering. I’m definitely satisfied with the quality and am taking them on vacation with me! For the high-waisted suit pictured second above, I am just using the leopard bottoms and replacing the longer top with a normal black bikini top!
5. Camera Case Backpack: I don’t pack light. I’m sure you’ve noticed on all of our travels, I have every electronic device in the book on my person. I used the HECK out of this backpack in Utah. The entire bottom portion is a camera case (my Canon Rebel and its lenses fit perfectly). My MacBook fit into the back sleeve and my drone, GoPro, and batteries etc. fit into the top portion. This backpack is perfect for the girl-with-too-much-stuff-on-the-go. I also flew with this as my carry-on!
6. SD Cards: Keep an eye on SanDisk memory cards during Prime Day because that’s when I’ve bought mine in the past. I like to use the 256GB ones so I have more freedom to take tons of photos while traveling. You will find the best deals on these during Prime Day. See a complete list of SanDisk memory cards available one Amazon here.
7. My Go-To Spray Tan: If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you’ve probably read about it from me a million times, most recently here. It’s my favorite. The price fluctuates anywhere from $17-$28, but it’s the best. Use it with a glove (I use and like both of the ones linked above).
8. Studded Heels: LOVE these heels, especially the fact that they’re $50, instead of $1000.
9. Post-it Pop-Ups (Bulk): If you’re a teacher or you have a Post-it Pop-Up dispenser, buy these. You get the most bang for your buck AND they last the entire school year.
10. No-Pull Dog Harness: My Charlie girl pulls on the leash a lot and she already has a small trachea, so I try to treat her little neck as delicately as possible. We love this harness because if she pulls at all, the pressure is applied to her chest. My aunt has this harness for all of her dogs, from the littlest to the XL. It comes in SO many different colors too! She introduced me to it and I’m so glad she did. It also has a DOUBLE clasp so it’s virtually inescapable.
11. Versatile Cardigan: This sweater comes in many different colors and it is honestly great quality! I’ve worn it so many times and different ways. The red is my favorite to wear with my leopard lace trim cami.
12. Charging Cord: I don’t know what it is about charging cords at this house, but we go through them like crazy. We also have them in every room, multiple in some rooms. These nylon braided ones from Amazon Basics are my favorite. They’re sturdy and withstand the test of time. I also use one in my car. (They also come in 6-foot. I use those too!)
13. Round Brush Blow Dryer: I use this every day of my life and it’s been amazing for my hair. If you have more questions about this item, I wrote all about it in detail here.
14. The Best Dry-Erase Markers: If you’re a teacher who doesn’t mind paying for your own classroom supplies, these are for you. They’re so much better and don’t streak like most other markers. They write and erase like a dream! If you have an office with a whiteboard or are someone who uses dry-erase markers regularly, you need these! They stopped selling them at Staples, so I stock up at Amazon every year before school starts. I use the smaller ones for my assignment board.
15. Apple Watch Cover: I bought this after getting a small scratch on my Apple Watch screen that drove me crazy. It’s pretty strong glass (similar to gorilla grass) that isn’t easily scratched, but let me tell you that it IS possible. So I got this and it’s great protection for my watch screen. I have the gold and it makes my watch look legit more expensive than the aluminum it is– like a sparkly gold face!
I got my husband the black one so he doesn’t scratch it while coaching and playing sports. They do get water under them sometimes, but they’re easy to clean. You might need to replace it after a while, but they’re $7 and totally worth having.
16. Checkered Cosmetic Bag: Let’s be honest. If you’re going to spend your hard-earned money on a designer cosmetic bag, you’re probably not going to waste it on a cosmetic bag that’s going to get dirty and messed– unless you’re famous or you really want it. Then, by all means, go for it.
I found these on Amazon and have been using them for a few months. I’ve used them daily, traveled with them, and thrown them in the car. They have held up so well. They’re still really cute and practical!
17. Collagen Peptide Powder: If you’re not taking in some collagen every day, why aren’t you? Best decision I’ve ever made. I picked a container or the Vital Proteins brand up at Target last month and have been mixing it in my coffee or water daily. I researched the benefits of consuming collagen peptides daily and was dying to try. My skin and nails have been benefitting tremendously. I also noticed that joint pain I would get after playing softball has subsided. It’s not only excellent for cosmetic reasons, but good for your aches and pains too! I am going to try the other brand (the pink canister linked above) when I run out because it is less expensive and has even better reviews!
18. Glass Cleaning Wipes: I hate when my glasses are smudgy. I love these for not only my glasses, but my computer and electronic device screens as well! This box seems to last forever and is only $14!
Some of these items are already on sale, but it is likely some will drop even lower once Prime Day goes live! We will follow up with a blog post or social media posts with any other great Prime Day deals we find.
xo,
Ash
