Erin and I love the fall. We love the pumpkins, the PSLs, the mums, the wreaths, the sweaters & cardigans, the boots, and the autumn air. We love virtually everything about the fall… except the pasty, dull skin that seems to come with it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think fall should mean losing that glow we worked on achieving and maintaining all summer.
Along with my favorite self-tanner, I’ve used a few new products to get my glow going again. Erin also has jumped on board and started using the same products.
My tried and true self-tanner for the body. When it comes to giving yourself an at-home tan, this stuff is the very best. It’s a spray that is applied with a mitt. I use it once per week (on the weekends) and it’s a nice brown color– not orange. It also comes in regular Fake Bake Flawless (which is a little lighter), I just prefer the “Darker.” You apply and leave it on for a few hours while you go about your business (cleaning, laundry, etc.) or sleep in it and then shower it off! It leaves you with a perfect tan. If you’ve been here a while, you know I’ve been using this for years now!
2. Tan-Luxe “The Face” Illuminating Self-Tan Drops
I never was a huge fan of applying my Fake Bake to my face. I had to keep such a close eye and wash it off more quickly to avoid getting too dark. It also seems to cause blackheads/breakouts on the face area. So, when my aunt told me about Tan-Luxe, I practically ran to order them! I’ve used them for a week now (Erin too) and the results are in– AMAZING! It comes in light/medium and medium/dark (we use medium/dark). You just add a few drops to your regular moisturizer/face serum at night and you wake up with a gorgeous glow. I recommend using 1-3 drops, depending upon your desired color. I felt 4-5 made my face too dark at first. The best part is, you can customize for a totally bespoke tan.
3. Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer
Innnn love with this so much. I promise you it’s worth every penny and you will not regret purchasing this gem. After reading about it online and then checking out the reviews, it appears the other Sephora customers feel the same way I do. There’s a lot in the container and you only need a tiny bit for each treatment. It makes my skin so radiant, smooth, and revitalized! It has AHAs, but does not leave my skin irritated or dry. Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, it smells AMAZING. This is the perfect exfoliator to use in conjunction with the Tan-Luxe drops.
4. Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist
I spray my entire face with this a few minutes before applying make-up. It softens my skin, leaving it more supple and ready for make-up application. My make-up applies so much more smoothly and gives my foundations a nice little glow. You can apply it after foundation or throughout the day to freshen up your make-up. AND it’s on sale for $8 right now!!!
5. All Nighter Ultra Glow Setting Spray
I’ve always loved the classic All Nighter Setting Spray for keeping make-up in place, but I’ve moved on to the Glow version because I prefer a dewy, natural look over a matte look. It gives such a nice glow to my skin after applying my make-up– while keeping my make-up in place all day!
6. Laura Mercier Translucent Glow Loose Setting Powder
If you’ve been here a while, you already know that Erin and I use the regular Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder to set our undereye make-up and t-zone. You might not know that I’ve been using this one for a while too. I don’t use it in the summer, but once fall hits, I break it out. I dust it over my bronzer and contour for a soft autumn glow on my cheekbones. I don’t know how or why, but every fall, it continues to give me the perfect color and glow! It’s not super shimmery or shiny; it just provides a soft translucent glow. It’s a must-have for fall. I’ve been using the same container for 2 years.
It’s been a busy start to this crazy school year, so being able to use my favorite products on the weekend and having a lasting glow (with little to no maintenance) for the week has been amazing!! All of Erin & my recent fall outfits (cardis galore!) are linked on our LIKEtoKNOWit page.
